Godzilla fanart, old and new

Here's my first post using pictures, and what better way to try it out with old fanart pencil drawings of my idol, Godzilla! This above image is from 1/28/1998. I drew this under my old pseudonym "Daijirou Ryuusei." This was from the craze surrounding the 1998 Godzilla film (which we fans have since referred to as GINO, Godzilla In Name Only), the titular monster of which was kept secret until the film's release date. This is what I had imagined Godzilla to look like.

Remember, I was still somewhat of a learner when I did this. I later became aware that the drawing was pretty stiff, and the neck too long (I was still improving my own skills). But I was very proud of the detail. I drew this with Rapidograph pens (0.25) over pencil lines.

This one was drawn on 9/3/2000. I drew this (while sitting down in the cafe at Sam's) while Godzilla 2000 was still in theaters (and a couple of guys were impressed enough to stop by and admire the drawing)! This was one of my early attempts at drawing the Mire-Goji design (the Toho staff's name for the suit used in the film), which has become one of my favorite Godzilla designs ever (especially since it was a fresh new look for him).

On 1/3/2003, I did this drawing of the Mire-Goji while I was on vacation in North Carolina. This was one of my first drawings of 2003, and one of my more dynamic Godzilla sketches ever! I was amazed with this one, maybe because I actually did this at a more comfortable, relaxed state.
