Happy 70th Birthday, Godzilla!

 Today is the 70th Anniversary of my favorite character of all time (tied with Snoopy), Godzilla! This was a super-quick sketch that I did (on tablet in FireAlpaca) while watching Godzilla Fest.

First Rekira CG work of the year: Rekira Flying Over the Dawn

 At last, the first full-quality Rekira CG work of 2014! Here's Rekira flying over a warm dawn, done in Blender, with text added in FireAlpaca. First Art of 2023!

 Happy New Year, everyone! Here's my first artwork of 2023!

I had wanted to do this for New Year's Day yesterday, but was busy with family at the time, but better to be just one night late than never (or any later)!

Here's the stars of Rekira the Super-Monster, the eponymous monster Rekira (right) shaking hands with the superhero Dengekid (a member of the superhero team, the Dynamic Heralds)! This year is the upcoming 50th Anniversary of my personal favorite Godzilla movie, and one of my favorite movies of all time, Godzilla Vs. Megalon (Toho; 1973), so this New Year's Day drawing is my tribute to that film with my characters.

Godzilla's 67th Birthday!

New drawing of my own kaiju, Rekira, shaking hands with his main inspiration, and one of my favorite characters of all time, Godzilla, for the monster's 67th Birthday today! Not the first time I've drawn such a moment, but I always have fun doing so.

Rekira's 30th Anniversary!

So 30 years ago today, I began on what ultimately became Rekira the Super-Monster! Who would've thought an angsty Godzilla fanfiction comic from my teenage years would ultimately become a more refined (yet still angsty, deep down) original personal work? I'm surprised at how far I've come, and very excited at what I'm doing with it. (You've seen some further WIP for the project.) :)

This was taken in Blender, then assembled in FireAplaca.

Cheliosaurus Portrait

This is based on the updated design for Rekira's first adversary, Electric Eel Monster Cheliosaurus (sketches of which you've seen on Facebook), so this is how it will look in color!  Done on tablet in FireAlpaca.  Started yesterday, finished today.

I haven't forgotten.  I'd never forget Godzilla's 60th Anniversary!  I've been planning this drawing all day, and was surprised I did this in short order!  :)

A REKIRA Cover Variation!

Imagine if I had published Rekira the Super Monster in Japan in tankobon (trade paperback) form in the late 1960s!  It'd look something like the following illustration, which I started yesterday (July 14) and finished tonight (July 15) on tablet in FireAlpaca.  :)

Godzilla 2014 Pencil Sketch 01

Whilst working on another project lately, I've been able to whip out this hand-drawn pencil sketch of the new Godzilla, finished on May 30, and colored tonight with tablet in Photoshop.

GODZILLA - Now Playing!!!

Technically, Godzilla is already out in theaters, as tonight was an early-bird screening, and among the people seeing it was my big brother Peter!  I'm sure he'll enjoy it, as will I tomorrow afternoon in 3D-IMAX.

Tonight, during the timeframe of an hour to an hour-and-a-half (on tablet in FireAlpaca), I did this quick little doodle of the new Godzilla, in honor of that occasion (and also to calm me down until then)!  My Godzilla-drawing spirit is stronger than ever.  :)
